With support from Constellation Energy, Women of Wind Energy, Towson University, and the Pennsylvania Wind for Schools program, KidWind will be holding a wind energy STEM teacher workshop in Baltimore, MD.
This workshop will cover the basics of wind energy science and technology, while also introducing educators to hands-on activities and innovative curricula to bring wind energy STEM concepts into their classrooms.
We will also be introducing the KidWind Challenge at this workshop, and giving teachers the resources and knowledge they need to form a student team to participate in the KidWind Challenge. The Challenge will be coming to Baltimore in May, 2012. Come learn how to participate in this exciting student-driven wind energy competition! Your students could win great cash prizes, while having fun and exploring renewable energy science!
All attending teachers will receive a free turbine kit from KidWind as well as free curricular materials.
This workshop will be held at the Towson University Center for STEM Excellence in Baltimore's inner harbor. This innovative center works to improve high school and middle school science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) instruction throughout the Baltimore metropolitan area.
This workshop is sponsored by Constellation Energy.
